What is a Land Trust?
A land trust is a non-profit, independent, non-government organization committed to the permanent protection of our natural and cultural heritage by actively working to conserve land through conservation easements. They work cooperatively with landowners to protect open spaces.
Land trusts are usually registered charities, therefore donations of land or money are tax-deductible.
The words “land trust” and “conservancy” mean the same thing.
